How To Install Dream Aquarium With Wine

Install wine

 

1.) To make sure Wine is installed in Klikit, go to:

 

Launch>Kcontrol (KDE Control Center)>System Administration>Windows Applications.

 

If Wine is not installed, it will install it for you automatically!

If Wine is installed, you will see a window like the one below:

 

 

Install Dream Aquarium

 

2.) Download Dream Aquarium (Demo that requires a license to get full benefit) from the following URL:

 

http://www.dreamaquarium.com/DreamAquariumXP.exe (XP and Windows 2000 are the same file.)

 

3.) Download gdiplus.dll from following URL:

 

http://www.dreamaquarium.com/gdiplus.dll

 

4.) Save the file in: ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/

Note: the ~ symbol means your home directory.

 

Example:

 

/home/geekydude/Downloads

 

Can be shortened by typing: ~/Downloads instead.

5.) Open a console window.

 

6.) Go to the directory the file was saved in (such as: cd ~/Downloads).

 

7.) Type: wine DreamAquariumXP.exe

 

 

This wil install the program and put an icon on the Klikit desktop to run the program with.
