When you login into you new installation, it's possible that the Network Monitor (KNemo) doesn't detect

your network card correctly:

 

 

 

To configure it, right click on the icon (lower right corner), and select Configure KNemo:

 

 

 

Now just click on Defaults and then on Apply, that should "fix" it:
